Thread: Dipped and De-badged!

After getting some motivation from killawaah, I went ahead and painted my wheels black with plastidip. 4 coats for each wheel and I threw on 2 coats of dupli-color clearcoat just to give them a bit of a satin finish and to help them avoid a hair of brake dust. Plastidip is definitely amazing stuff! What do you guys think?

That looks really good. Have you noticed any chipping of the plasti-dip from possible rocks flying up?? I have always been concerned about that.

No chips or anything as of now. It seems to be pretty solid. I used a deck of cards around the rim of the wheel when I dipped them. I peeled the dip off all the cards but before I did I tried scratching or chipping it off and that stuff holds pretty well. I guess I will see how it goes with time!

I haven't seen any thing like that and im on the forums often. If anything it's a small issue that doesn't affect many people.

Im in favor of lowering it other than that it looks shexy!

Just came across this now and it looks awesome! I de-badged mine as well in the beginning of this week and it looks so much cleaner now... I took off the plastidip about a month or so, it was a pain in the ass to clean. Lol! I might repaint it again with clear coat over it this time.

Both Look Great! Also, if you aren't planning a full exhaust soon, I would highly recommend the Japanese/Euro tips - best $160 I have spent for an appearance only piece.

Heres a quick question. I know lots of people were hating on the plastic parts like the bumper and diffuser but anyone thought of dipping those parts a different color?
