    BRZ sti specs and expectations.

Just wanted to start off this thread too see what you guys are expecting from the brx sti model. Such as parts suspension tires, performance parts, horsepower increase. Also if you have info on the sti specs let us know!!!
    Ill start it off
I think that the sti will have a lower suspension and a horsepower increase of about 60 if its n/a and if they go with a turbo im expecting about 100 horsepower increase, and saying that with wishful thinking!!! lol

I don't really see how they would be able to get a 60 HP increase keeping it n/a.. have you seen the compression ratio already? extremely unlikely

better headers, exhaust, inter cooler and a couple extra stuff, but i wish they would just say to toyota we are putting in a turbo and you guys can put your superchargers that you have been working on in the trd model. if this thing had 300 hp it would be freaking awesome.

Adding 60hp while keeping it N/A would be really costly, especially on a engine that makes 200HP, a 60hp increase is considered "a lot" for this with just N/A mods. We have yet to see under the hood of the Subaru BRZ STi but I have a good feeling it's turboed and power should be increased by 60-100 WITH a turbo.

agreed.. were talking about Subarus in house STi division.. theres no way they'd be able to increase it by 60 hp with factory parts.. you can get a 60 hp increase going the NA route but your talking specifically aftermarket parts entirely if STi chose to go NA I'd suspect at most 30hp

I really doubt they're going to stick N/A with the Sti spec its most likely going to be turbo application, to gain a 100HP N/A will need some aggressive cams and strings retainers valves a lot of head work also stronger pistons and a high rev limit as well i think.

turbo slap on minor changes in compression minor valve/cam work done!

I would suspect that the biggest differances from the BRZ to the BRZ STi will be a mild up grade in power(say 220-230hp, 200-210tq) and say 100+pounds lighter. They may play with the gearing and I'd imagine they're also going to retune the suspions, I don't think they'll lower the car too much if at all, I'm sad to say I thinki its highly unlikly toyota will let them release a turbo version dosnt mean I don't hope they will...I als think the interior will get a full sti style treatment(racing seats restyled this and that) as well as maybe a rear seat deleat...I hope they don't call it a STi and all that means is a few extra features(as in no more power or other upgrades and just a better sound system and nav)

New Subaru BRZ STi Will Not Get A Turbo - Autoholics

The joint venture contract directly with Toyota, states "Subaru cannot introduce turbocharged BRZ until year 2015", at which point the contract will expire etc.....
someone has to have the link, it was in the Wall Street Journal quite a while ago about the contract terms Toy has with Subaru..........

In order for this whole joint venture to take place, Subaru had to promise to Toyota, in contract, no turbo production car til 2015. mkay.
    prior old cars: 92 SVX, former 92SS 5mt, 93SS auto, 94SS 5mt , 94lgt auto, 94TW autotragic, 06outback, 03 BAJA 5mt, 83Gl rescue wagon, 85 hatchie ea81......82 Brat Gl, 95leg wago.....i don't remember all them.

    now: 85BRAT GL, 91CRX Si, 91Civic Si, 2011 CR-Z CVT, and a 84 BRAT parting out.....
