I just bought and installed a CARSMO armrest for BRZ/FR-S, and I'm really happy with how it works for me. As you can see from the pictures, it fits at the front of the center tray, and you can put the cupholder behind it. I liked this armrest better than the one that fit in the cupholders because (a) it has more forward support, which I really need to be comfortable with the gearshift's position, and (b) I can still use the cupholders. The material is pretty close to the center-console material, and the stitching matches well. Also, there's room for the adapter and cable for my iPhone, and you can see the cable in the picture.

I have the one that blocks the cupholders.
I like the design of this one but it's very expensive ($119 + shipping?) for a product that shouldn't be too expensive to produce.

Thanks for posting. Kind of a funky shape at first glance, but it looks cool I think.

Sorry dumb question but when it comes to iPod connections and integration that's what I am I guess... When you say adapter for the cable, do you mean for the cable that you have to plug into the dash in front of the shifter? I thought the hole in the cupholder area was only for chargers. If I could avoid draping my iPod cable from the dash back to the cupholders, that would be great. I wish Toyota/Subaru designed it that way from the start.

PS the cable I'm talking about has a single pin, not usb.

Yeah, the price was high. It cost me $125, with shipping included. But I really needed the support. I'm fairly tall, and with the seat in a comfortable position the gearshift was about six inches too far forward. This design of the armrest gets my arm and my right hand to the right place.

I meant the power socket. I kind of like the fact that the giant power plug is covered up under the armrest. So I still have a flash drive sticking out of the USB port, which bugs me because it messes up the way the dash looks.

I want an armrest that lets me use the area underneath. Put a hinge on it so I can reach inside. Screw the cupholders.

There's no hinge, but with the one I purchased you can use the space under the armrest for storage, kind of like a secret compartment. You just lift up the armrest. In my case, what's there a the moment are the charger-plug for the iPhone plus, I think, some pennies.

Here's a picture of the underside of the armrest--the whole thing's basically hollow, so under the armrest is a fair amount of space.

Found a site in Europe that has them and ships to the USA. No idea why Subaru/Toyota refuses to sell them in the states.

GT86 ACCESSORIES - UK Genuine Toyota Lexus Parts Specialists
Just tried to order. Registered with the site, placed the item in my cart, and then attempted checkout.
Shipping preference is requested, but I'm given no choices and am unable to locate a way to proceed beyond that point.
I've emailed the vendor to request help. I'll post when I find out how to get the very armrest I've been seeking.

If not too outrageous, I hope to have this armrest on its way to me shortly.

This works out to approximately $209.80 U.S.

My order is placed and will be sent via "airmail".
I'll update with pics of the installation process and the final result once it arrives.

I just received my Carsmo armrest. Agreed, it's pricey, but it is nicely executed. Good surface feel, looks OEM, and doesn't steal the very limited cubby/storage space available. Also the height is perfect for resting your arm and having your palm at the right height for the shifter. Glad I bought it.
