I've driven my 2013 BRZ almost 1500 mi now. I noticed that when I go over 70 mph, there seems to be a chattering sound coming from the passenger rear. I have nothing in the car... Nothing in the trunk, nothing in the backseats... Nothing.
Does anyone think it could be the fuel door that chatters. It is fairly light... Is there a remedy.
Have that noise too, coming from the right rear side. Could be any one of a number of things vibrating at the higer speed. Haven't really tried to pin it down. I'm pretty sure it's not the fuel door as that seems secure.
Hi,
There is a Service Bulletin out on this, it could be your problem. There is a weld issue with some of the rear sub frame pieces, have a look at threads titled 'Rear End Noise' or 'Noise in Trunk'.
It's not a big deal and goes away on it's own usually, the fix is to grease the offending joins.
Took my car to the dealer yesterday for the parcel self noise. They said they couldn't recreate the noise. So they did nothing as my vin# was out of the list of affected vin #'s. Annoying......
