Hey everyone,

I recently came across a 2018 Subaru BRZ with a salvage title for sale. The car has a 2.0L H4 16V engine and is being sold for $11,000. While the price is certainly attractive, I'm hesitant to buy a car with a salvage title.
I know that a salvage title means the car has been in an accident or has had some sort of damage, but I don't have any information about the extent of the damage in this case. I'm a big fan of the Subaru BRZ and I've been looking for one for a while, but I don't want to take any unnecessary risks.
I'm hoping to get some advice from the members of this forum. Have any of you purchased a car with a salvage title before? If so, what was your experience like? Would you recommend it? What should I look out for when considering a car with a salvage title?
I appreciate any insights you can offer. I want to make an informed decision before making such a big purchase. Thank you in advance for your help!

UPDATE: Thanks for the observation and suggestion, I already purchased the car report and I want to share it with you guys on what I found, so in the report, there's a auction pictures of this vehicle, the damage is at the rear left wheel of the car, broken rear axle I assume, the car was sold for $3,900, so what do you guys think, is it worth the asking price? Below is the report and website that I used to get the car report.

Looks more like a 2016 than a 2018… like the first rendition of the body style unless they just put the older model front bumper on after the accident… [google search “2018 brz” and you will see the differences in the front bumper and stuff]…door probably doesn’t shut all the way unless you just have it ajar in the picture…

How many miles does it have on it?

I would leave a salvage title to a mechanic who knows what they are getting themselves into.

Your statement that you don't want to take any unnecessary risks is exactly the opposite of what I would hope someone would say when buying one. When I was skimming that sentence I expected it to say "I am willing to take a risk, if works out I got it cheep, if not, I only lost $11,000. No big deal."

I would only buy one if I knew the history and who did the work to repair it. I also wouldn't buy one for a family member or that I would depend on for transportation.
