Oil leaking from crank seal

Good morning! I purchased a 2014 BRZ Limited that needed a little love and I wanted a project car. With that said , I knew going into it that the timing cover needed to be resealed and my husband and I did that a couple of weeks ago and we finished it yesterday (had to wait for the crank shaft bolt). We put the car back together, put the oil in it and started the car only to find out it is leaking from the crank seal, now my question is do we need to remove the timing cover again or can we replace the seal with out removing it? Any tips or suggestions would be helpful and yes I am taking it to my mechanic this month for the air conditioner, but I do like to do the work myself.
