I got to ride in a BRZ a couple weeks back and I was pretty impressed with my experience. The car never once felt slow with decent acceleration for it's size and the suspension didn't feel as bad as many of the car magazines have said. It definitely made me feel better about having a deposit down on one.
Dove a demo for the first time yesterday. It was an automatic.
Hard not to smile.
Accel was better than I expected.
The exhaust note very good.
Foot wells were large and comfortable.
Window sill a little too high to be comfortable with my elbow out the window.
Overall, it made me satisfied that I had made the right choice that I had already put my $ down.
Can't wait!
just wondering was the visibility out the front as good as they are saying in the reviews do you see the hood or not.and where did you put your arm seeing the armrest is non-existant.
Impressions: althought the car was clean the white didn't have that new look to it.
I'm built and 6'2". I fit in it no problem.
Looks like an economy car on the inside. Car is too expensive for what it is.
Driving by I was happy to see it from a distance. When I got close to it based on outside appearance there was no "wow" factor. It was bland and looked like it had never been waxed, was 2 years or more old, and after being cleaned today it had no zing.
Maybe the wow factor comes from driving. The guy was in charge of determining how many brz go to different dealerships in my region.
He said there will be no way to test drive when it comes out. It's not allowed. The car will sell no matter what so if you want to drive it you gotta buy it.
I for one won't buy a car without test drive especially if I'm not impressed on the exterior.
Best chance is if u know someone buying one maybe u can test drive it or ride in one.
Too much of a gamble to buy it hoping you like the ride. In the end you'll be happy when a better model is made and they will listen to people and make an awd turbo version. They just say they will not so people don't wait and buy one now .
Visibility is good out the front. Nowhere to rest arm other than the steering wheel. There will be something made in the aftermarket which addresses this I bet.
So I'm guessing you don't like the exterior and interior. What are you comparing it to? What else are you considering? Because in this price category, I find the exterior to be quite nice, the interior is fair. Not much better then a Civic Si.
The vis over the nose was very good. I'm not sure who came up with the fact that this is no place for your arm. There IS and arm rest on the door, just like you would expect. The salesman told me to tell me that they had a demo on site, he said that I was not allowed to drive the car. The sales mgr whom I've known for yrs made an exception, maybe cause I'm not a young guy and because I had already put down a deposit. Maybe it was because he just wanted to keep a paying customer happy.
If you are willing to enter the used market then it's not even a comparison. I think when most people compare the BRZ or FR-S they are comparing them to brand new cars.
If you are willing to buy a used car then I would highly suggest that over the BRZ. Another car to consider is the S2000.
Between those two I would choose the Elise. That is what I'd do personally.
Keep in mind these cars that you are comparing them to weren't in the BRZ price range when they were brand new.
Another thing to consider. PRACTICALITY. If you take a look at the BRZ. You can imagine buying groceries or even medium sized items at walmart and bringing it home without trouble. There is a good amount of space in the BRZ. Plus if you are a big buy, the BRZ fits.
I've sat in the Z4 and the S2000 and the Elise. They are just weekend warriors to me. No trunk space, very tight cabin.
They are true sports cars with no compromise in design.
The BRZ is a fair medium I'd say. You can fit 4 tires in the back with a jack and compressor.
Not happy to hear about your disappointment with the Satin White Pearl. This is not the first time I've heard this criticism.
That was my first option when considering colors for the BRZ. Still not sure what other color I would like. Blue does seem appealing but I feel like that will be the common colour for most BRZs.
He's right - not that Richmond is a representative sample, but of the 6 at my dealer we have 1 white, 1 silver, 1 GB, and 3 WR Blue...
