I have been strongly considering removing the "Subaru" and "BRZ" badges from the deck lid of my Subie. I feel as if it would make the rear end look a bit cleaner. Has anyone done this yet (pictures)?

A few people have done this already. There are pics and videos of it on these forums - do a search for "debadged" and you'll get some nice eye candy. I agree it definitely looks cleaner.
I debadged both Subaru and BRZ. When I first got my BRZ I bought a plate frame that has BRZ on the bottom. I think that the Subaru logo and the BRZ on the plate frame is enough. Even when it was still badged people asked me what it was. At least now they have a reason.
I just ordered the same plate frame, so I will be removing the BRZ badge as well this weekend. I will also be installing an LED 4th brake light in the JDM fog light position. I'll post pics when done.
heat gun, plastic "pry/bar" or screw driver (to protect the paint), and a lot of patience. once you have the actual badge off there are a ton of comercial products to remove the remaining adhesive with out damaging the paint (like goo gone).
If you need an idea of technice's to use search youtube/google for for "badge removal" or similar. All my sports/sporty cars have been debadged.
^ Thanks for posting the pics, I got the CBS LTD, so the second pic is a perfect example for me. I think it will look even better with the powder coated stainless steel BRZ license plate frame that just came in.
^ Yep, you want to take every possible precaution, especially with this ultra-soft Subie paint. Also, a hair dryer will help prevent over-heating and thus damaging the paint.
Quality dental floss is also an option. It doesn't have a propensity to melt like fishing line. I prefer a soft waxed "tape" style as it allows for a good sawing action and is strong as the dickens. Good advice from Umbie on using a hair dryer instead of an industrial heat gun. It is really quite amazing how much heat a household hair dryer can put out without overheating the way a heat gun can.
okay I am gonna try to load these AGAIN! (today is just NOT my day)
goo gone, credit card, micro fiber cloths, elbow grease
