If I'm listening to music on an iPhone 5 via USB and someone sends me a text and I tell the radio to read it to me it develops static when I go back to music. If I swap to Bluetooth there is no static but when I swap back to USB it comes back. Turning the radio off and back on doesn't work. I don't think turning the phone off and back on works either but that's kind if a pain even if it does work.

I don't know.. #firstworldproblems

Yeah, these aren't the best head units. When I initially connect my Android phone via Bluetooth it'll cut in and out for a couple of minutes, disconnect the reconnect and start playing music fine all in about a span of 5 minutes, very annoying. I think the only thing you can do is go to the dealer and see if maybe they have a software update for the head unit yet.

Only problem I've really had with the stereo is occaisionally the head unit wont come up with song titles. It will come up as connected and if i go into my phone and hit play it will play fine but the controls on the touch screen will not work. This only happens every once and a while and doesn't really bother me too much because I'm never in the car for that long anyway. But can sometimes get a little irritating.

I always run my iPhone 5 off Bluetooth in the car. I've noticed that the HU only picks up SMS messages and will read them - iMessage's don't get picked up as sent messages. I never use a cable to connect my phone, I'm not sure why someone would bc of the BT connectivity. Is there a benefit to using the USB? Is it really saving much more batt?

I dont have a problem with how it sounds through bt. and honestly now that apple came out with ios7 and i can turn it off easily and hassly free when i'm not in the car, it doesn't effect my battery as much as it used to either. I'll take that over having to plug my phone in to anything when i get in anyday. Only other thing that bothers me is with the push button start there's no way (that i know of) to turn the engine off without turning off the stereo. Not a big deal but when i get out at work or at home to add a new small piece or do any sort of work to it, it is kind of irritating to have to wait for the stereo to turn back on and connect my bt again.
